Office policy for no-shows
A written no-show and missed appointment policy for patients. It explains that each appointment reserves a chair and time slot, asks for at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule, and includes a blank for the hourly charge the office sets for no-shows. It states that repeated cancellations or missed appointments can lead to loss of future appointment privileges.
Give it to new patients with their intake paperwork and have them sign it, or post it at the front desk. The front desk team can refer back to it when a patient misses a visit, so the conversation rests on a policy the patient already saw and agreed to.
