Insurance determination letter to patient
A patient letter announcing a change in the practice’s relationship with an insurance company. It tells patients that as of a set date the office will no longer be a preferred provider in that network, while still accepting their insurance. It offers a free benefit assessment so patients can understand any differences, and presents the decision as a way to keep control over the care the practice provides.
Send it to every patient on that plan once the practice decides to leave a PPO network, with enough notice before the effective date. The front desk should be ready for calls, and the insurance coordinator can schedule the benefit reviews the letter offers.
